Burial of Montignies-Lez-Lens (1976)

The 'Montagnards' have always had great loyalty to their commune, which is why it was with great sadness that they followed the great upheaval of the mergers of the communes of 1977.

They also wanted to commemorate this painful moment with dignity, on September 25 and 26, 1976, a few weeks before the merger with Lens.

On Saturday, September 25, a meal was served to the Montagnards in the patronage room in memory of the dear deceased.

On Sunday September 26, the lifting of the body, the speeches of circumstances and a large procession (Funeral chariots, Giants, Fanfares and cheerleaders) brightened the streets of the village.
