The Mayors

Let's relive the happy time when Montignies lez Lens was still an independent commune.

Indeed, as a reminder, Montignies lez Lens lost its status as a municipality during the famous merger of municipalities in 1977. We have tried to inventory the list of all the mayors (or mayors) of the municipality.

The so-called 'official' list begins around the 1750s, but thanks to some information gleaned from our oldest mountain dwellers, we have learned that the first names can be found written on the slabs of the parish church of St Martin:
